Cost of living has Washingtonians considering a move

Many Washingtonians don’t think the quality of life in Washington is worth the cost of living.

  • 64% of respondents age 18-29 said they would move to another state if their personal and professional situation allowed.
  • Those with incomes higher than $100,000 (53%) were more likely to say the cost of living in Washington is worth it for the quality of life.
  • 67% of Washingtonians who live in housing situations that are not affordable by the U.S. HUD definition of affordability indicate they would move to another state if their situation allowed.
