Housing

April 18, 2020 By didi@davidovichdesign.com

Rental Housing Association of Washington (RHAWA): Rental Housing

Survey of Washington voters to measure voter opinions about housing in Washington, including their attitudes about homelessness, the causes of increasing rental rates, and rent control.

Metro: Residential Preferences

Survey in Clackamas, Clark, Multnomah, and Washington counties to determine housing and neighborhood preferences that influence residents’ decisions as to where they choose to live. The survey asked participants to weigh trade-offs and real-world options, including both words and images. Analyzing how residents make these trade-offs allowed researchers to better understand how the region’s residents make decisions about where to live. Metro Regional Government, homebuilders, and city and county governments continue to use these findings to help inform future growth planning.

DHM Panel: Housing and Homelessness Surveys

An annual survey on the state of housing and homelessness in Oregon. Results are shared with the media and legislators and housing policymakers from across the state.

KGW: Portland Homelessness Survey

Survey of Portland residents as part of a larger investigative project, Tent City, USA, about homeless tent camping in Portland.

Prosper Portland

Assessed the market for family-oriented ownership housing in the Pearl District and larger Central City. The research consisted of secondary research, in-depth one-on-one interviews with key informants, and an online survey.  The survey utilized the discrete choice technique to determine the relative ranking of housing design features and community amenities.

Proud Ground

Focus groups with low-income families regarding home ownership opportunities in the Portland region, including neighborhood preferences, finance options, and willingness to live in denser, urban neighborhoods. Results were used to inform strategic planning communications.

Seattle Housing Levy

Telephone survey research with King County voters to gauge their support of a housing levy that would fund housing developments and provide housing assistance for low-income and homeless residents. Results were used to inform communications in a successful ballot measure campaign.
