• Oregon Forests Values and Beliefs: Telephone, online, and focus group research on behalf of the Oregon Forest Resources Institute (OFRI) and Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) to gauge Oregonians’ opinions about forest management issues in Oregon including their forest values and beliefs, forest management goals, and specific issues ranging from clear cutting to wood products to water quality, to biomass energy.
  • Tongass Forest Values and Beliefs: Telephone survey to conducted on behalf of Sealaska Corporation to assess Southeast Alaskan’s values and beliefs as they relate to the future of Southeast Alaska and the Tongass National Forest, including regional and community needs and goals and their attitudes about forest management, renewable energy, and Alaska Native culture. This research represents a baseline measurement for future benchmark studies that will assist Sealaska with program evaluation, strategic planning, and communications.
  • Oregon Land Use: Conducted focus groups and a statewide online survey to assist the Big Look Task Force in their comprehensive review of Oregon’s land use system. The research assessed residents’ attitudes about protecting forest, farm, and natural areas, climate change, and planning for a vibrant economy. Residents were also asked about specific initiatives to reform the land use system including reducing its complexity.
  • Montana Smart Growth Coalition/Greater Yellow Stone Coalition: Qualitative and quantitative research among voters in Montana and select counties in Idaho and Wyoming to assess their perceptions and priorities for managing growth as the population in these areas increase. Topics included their views toward protecting farm and forest land, highway and road development, and high density growth.
  • Southern Oregon Small Diameter Trees: Telephone survey research conducted on behalf of the Southern Oregon Small Diameter Collaborative to assess the level of support for cutting small diameter trees in public forests in Jackson and Josephine counties, Oregon, and to test strategic messaging concepts. The research will be used to help with the Collaborative’s long term goal to remove small diameter trees from uncharacteristically dense forests in Rogue Valley in order improve ecological health and resiliency, reduce severe wildfire, and improve the region’s economy and quality of life.
